Mike Gullo - Vocalist

Michael Gullo is direct from the University of Miami’s Vocal Jazz Department where he sang backup for Patti Austin, The Steve Miller Band and Ricky Skaggs and was a member of the nation’s number one Vocal Jazz ensemble, JV1, under the direction of Larry Lapin, performing last year with Tierney Sutton and Nicole Yarling.

 In 2007, hundreds of performers competed across the United States and Canada for the prestigious Grammy Ensemble.  Michael was chosen as one of eight, to perform with James Moody, Patti Austin and Roberta Gamberini at the Grammy Nominees Reception in Los Angeles. He is also the winner of the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival as Outstanding Bass Vocalist for both 2006 and 2007 and has performed at various jazz clubs in Seattle, Washington where he studied voice with jazz artists Greta Matassa, Beth Winters and Musical Director, Paul Linnes.

Growing up in Seattle with two very creative households, Michael was introduced to jazz while singing with the award winning, jazz conductor, Scott Brown of Roosevelt High School.  Michael enjoys performing with jazz combos in Seattle and Miami and playing basketball whenever the touring schedule permits.

Michael became the featured male vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on May 15, 2009.
