Yesterdays - CD $14.95 Buddy De Franco was the second leader of the revived Glenn Miller Orchestra replacing Ray McKinley in January 1966. Buddy, one of the world's greatest jazz clarinetists, featured himself as a jazz soloist only and never as the leader of the reed section. Believing that Glenn Miller himself would never have stood still musically, De Franco performed new music in a style differing from the familiar Miller sound. It contains music performed both in the Buddy De Franco and traditional Glenn Miller Orchestra styles. In January 1974, Buddy retired from the road to return to the jazz scene and Peanuts Hucko, clarinet star of the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band, became the new leader of the official Glenn Miller Orchestra. Song List: (1977) Featuring and directed by Buddy DeFranco I Want To Be Happy, Bess, You is My Woman, Far Away Places, Yesterdays, The Story of a Starry Night, Magic Moments, Didn't We, Now is The Hour, On The Trail, My Man, Body And Soul, Danny Boy, Love, Springtime Pipers, Slumber Song The Glenn Miller Orchestra SAXES: Ralph Olson (Lead Clarinet, Alto Saxophone & Flute) Terrell Heiserman (Alto, Clarinet & Flute) Robert Crea (Tenor & Clarinet) Richard Gerhart (Tenor & Clarinet) Richy Barz (Bari, Alto, Bass Clarinet, Clarinet, Flute & Piccolo) TRUMPETS: Dale Thompson, Thomas Snelson, John Hoffman, Kenneth Wright TROMBONES: James Price, Joseph Miller, Clifford Shibley, Ronald Textor-Bass Tombone PIANO/CELESTE: Steve Johnson BASS: Lanny Fields GUITAR: James De Franco DRUMS: Danny D'Imperio
